Swamp Things opens
Come see a live 15-foot albino Burmese python, a cuddly baby bobcat, a curious raccoon, a baby skunk and more at The Schiele Museum of Natural History! This look at the primeval world of swamp creatures is enhanced with special programs. Don’t miss the ‘gator feedings at 10:30 AM or the snake feedings at 2:30 PM, Thursdays beginning July 10. You’ll learn about the animals, too! And meet some swamp creatures and learn about their habits and adaptations in Live From the Swamp, Monday through Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM, and Sundays at 2:30 PM.
New fee structure installed
With the Gastonia City Council’s adoption of the 2008-2009 budget comes a new fee structure at The Schiele Museum of Natural History beginning July 4.
Fees for visitors who live within Gastonia city limits
$5/adults
$4/students and seniors
Fees for visitors who live outside Gastonia city limits
$7/adults
$6/students and seniors
Museum members receive FREE admission into the museum. Click here to purchase your museum membership.
The fee includes entry into any featured exhibit and museum admission. The museum will waive admission fees from 4 to 8 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month and from 1 to 5 p.m. the fourth Friday of each month.
Planetarium tickets move to a flat fee of $3 for all visitors.
