Misinformation. Lies. Alternative Facts. We live in a world where anyone can publish an article online and false news goes viral. People share misinformation (sometimes unknowingly) on a regular basis. What's the harm, right? Well according to Brian Southwell, professor, author, radio host and director of Science in the Public Sphere, misinformation can have long lasting, damaging effects on a society.

We all have a responsibility to ourselves, our peers and our children to pass along credible information. Discover ways to "vet" a source and stop the spread of misinformation.

Join the discussion as Dr. Southwell explains his research involving the dangers of misinformation and the challenges of correcting false facts once they're publicly stated.

Come be a part of the solution. See you there!

The night will include:

• A free beer (or other beverage)

• A show in our brand new Planetarium/Science Theater

• An informal talk by a scientist or other expert on topics relevant to your life

* Doors open at 6:45pm

** Museum Members get a $2 discount ($5 admission)
