Catawba Indian Festival

Saturday, October 12 from 10 AM - 3 PM

Explore the culture and history of the Catawba Indians, one of the Carolina’s earliest indigenous peoples. Listen to traditional stories, feel the beat of a drum circle, step inside a Bark House, and try your hand at primitive skills. Join us and members of the Catawba Nation for singing, dancing, hands-on activities, crafts and more!


Dances: 11 AM & 12 PM

Storytelling: 11:30 AM & 12 PM

Ongoing demonstrations: pottery making, basket weaving, beadwork, flintknapping, archeology, and more!


Ticket Information:

- Tickets can be purchased at the door on the day of the event

- $3 in addition to general museum admission

- Just $3 for Schiele Members

- Schiele Members can purchase tickets in advance by calling 704.866.6904
