The September 7 installment will highlight the sights and events that fill this month’s night sky. After dominating the cosmos throughout the summer, the bright planets of Venus and Jupiter slowly start to slip from our sky. The Summer Triangle reaches its highest point of the year after sunset and offers a wonderful view of our birds, Cygnus and Aquila, as they fly down the Milky Way. With the start of fall arriving in September, Pegasus leaps up above the horizon bringing his rider Andromeda and her family drama in the east. Close by in the sky, the distant planet Neptune reaches opposition, providing us the opportunity to dive into the mysteries that hide beneath the blue clouds of our final planet in the Solar System. Join us as we discover these sights and more that await in “Our Carolina Sky.”

Admission to “Our Carolina Sky” is $5.00 for everyone over 3 years of age. Planetarium seating is limited, and advanced ticketing is strongly encouraged. To purchase your tickets in advance, please visit www.SchieleMuseum.org or call 704-866-6900. The program will begin promptly at 7:00pm, and late admission will not be possible.
