Reptile & Amphibian Day

10 AM - 3 PM

See and touch snakes, alligators, turtles, frogs and other live reptiles and amphibians from across the globe. Meet live scaly and slimy creatures, cheer on the turtles in the annual race, search for live species around the pond on our nature trail, and enjoy a variety of fun activities for the entire family. While you are here, be sure to visit museum scientists conducting research on fungi, insects, archaeology and more!

 

Event Details

- The Member Express Lane will be open from 10 AM - 2 PM.

- This event will be held throughout the museum and on the nature trail.

- Turtle races will take place at 11 AM, 11:30 AM, 12 PM, 1:30 PM, 2 PM, and 2:30 PM. Seating is limited.

- 30-minute wildlife safari explorations on the nature trail will depart from the lobby at 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 1 PM, and 2 PM.

- A food truck will be on site serving up delicious lunch options. They accept cash and card, so bring your appetite!

- There will also be a face painter at the event. They're cash only, be sure to plan accordingly.

- Schiele Members: only $3

- Schiele Members can purchase tickets in advance here or by calling 704.866.6904

- Non-members: $3 + general museum admission

- Tickets will be available for purchase at the door

Directions & Parking

The Schiele Museum is located at 1500 E. Garrison Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28054 (get directions here.) The Schiele's parking lot is located near the entrance of the museum and is free for visitors. Additional parking is located at the "green lot" (on Garrison Blvd., just past the museum towards downtown.)
