All the way from Colorado, shale rock is the best material to find preserved fossils! Be the first to unveil a fossil preserved in the shale that hasn’t been seen in thousands of years!

This program is designed to minimize contact. Participants will be given shale that they can work on splitting while they hunt for fossils. You'll have 30 minutes to work through your specimens, and staff will be on hand to help identify items you find!  Please note, every piece is not guaranteed to have preserved fossils.

 

Ticket Prices:

Adult: 19 years + ($5 pp)

Youth: 4 - 18 years ($5 pp)

Child: 3 and under (free)

 

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Each person ages 4 years+ will require a ticket.

Each participant is required to wear a mask (aged 5+) and practice social distancing.

Ticket purchase does not include the museum, farm, sock skating or planetarium unless additional tickets are purchased.

Please arrive in time to check-in at the front desk and travel to the program area.

Late arrivals

Limited tickets are available for each session. Please allow for plenty of time to check in at the front desk and make your way to the program area. Missed programs due to late arrivals will not be refunded.
