Explore the Nature Trail
All within a 0.7 mile trek, you'll experience a pine forest, mixed hardwood forest, and pond and stream communities typical of the North Carolina Piedmont. On our Trail for all Seasons, every day is a good day for a walk.
Please be mindful of others that are also enjoying the Nature Trail. You should still maintain safe social distancing practices and wear a mask while on site.
Dogs on the Trail
Please keep in mind, while dogs are allowed on the trail on a leash, they are not permitted within the Outdoor Exhibit areas like The Farm, Catawba Indian Village, and Playscape. Please be sure to pick up after your dog as well.
Museum and Indoor Exhibits
The museum interior exhibits remain closed to the public. This also means that there will be no restroom facilities available during your visit to the Nature Trail. Please plan accordingly.
The Farm and Catawba Village exhibits are currently closed. The museum is planning on reopening these areas in the next few weeks in conjunction with new programs. Check SchieleMuseum.org for updates on new programs coming soon!
Again, please be mindful of others that are also enjoying the Nature Trail. You should still maintain safe social distancing practices and wear a mask while usinig the Nature Trail. The museum building remains closed to the general public.
