2020 Summer Camps for Rising 3rd & 4th Graders

Summer camp at The Schiele Museum is a unique experience full of excitement for exploring science and the natural world. Participants can look forward to hands-on activities and a variety of learning experiences within the museum, outdoors on the Nature Trail, and on carefully selected trips in the local community. Organized activities begin each day at 9 AM and end at 4 PM. Every participant is invited to participate in our extended day program that allows drop-off as early as 7:30 AM and pick-up at late as 5:30 PM at no additional charge.


Camp 301: Maker Madness

June 15 - 19, 2020

If you can think it, you can make it! This hands-on camp will provide you with the skills you need to build, design, construct, and tinker. Be a scientist and an engineer, work with real tools, and invent something new. Let's get busy making!


Camp 302: Go for the Gold

June 22-26, 2020

Return to the days of Ancient Greece and the first Olympics to discover the origins of games and contests of strength, speed and agility. Showcase your skills while participating in mock Olympic trials!

Camp 303: It’s Snot So Gross 

June 29 – July 3, 2020

Make fake snot, design phony poo, find out how germy your hands really are and more stinky, slimy, and oozy fun! Young grossologists will get knee-deep in experiments and crafts to to learn the science of some human body functions.

Camp 304: Dr. Zoolittle

July 6 - 10, 2020

We can’t really talk with animals, but we can learn how to interact with them through activities like feeding, handling, and play time. Learn about animal nutrition, behavior, enrichment activities and everything else it takes to care for the live animals at The Schiele.

Camp 305: Can You Dig It?

July 13 - 17, 2020

Dig in to discover the differences between archeology, geology, and paleontology. Get hands-on while exploring how each of these sciences studies treasures from the earth to reveal stories about our past.

Camp 306: Superman-imals

July 20 - 24, 2020

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s superman-imals! Explore the superpowers of live creatures, explore different types of adaptations and habitats and learn how you can use your own skills to help animals survive.

 Camp 307: Fear’s a Factor

July 27 - 31, 2020

Do you have what it takes to face your fears? Compete with your peers to complete stunts, meet natural challenges, and eat weird food inspired by nature.

Camp 308: Mr. Sam’s Spontaneous Science Camp

August 3 - 7, 2020

Who knows what will happen in Mr. Sam’s camp? Our unpredictable physics genius will enlighten, inspire and entertain the brains of budding scientists with fantastic experiments and outlandish demonstrations.

Camp 309: Back to the Future

August 10 - 14, 2020

Join Marty McFly and Doc Brown on an epic adventure as they travel in time. Journey through the decades and discover how our culture changes over the years, and maybe learn a thing or two about the future!

Camp 310: Young Piccassos

August 17 - 21, 2020

Dive into the world of art by exploring different ways of creating! Experiment with paint, clay, sketching, and more!

Schiele Members have exclusive access to sign up for summer camps from January 1st through February 29th. Registration opens to non-members beginning March 1st. Not a Schiele Museum member? Click here to join!
